The Coral Triangle Initiative is a multilateral partnership formed in 2007 to address the urgent threats facing the coastal and marine resources of one of the most biologically diverse and ecologically rich regions on earth. FCG ANZDEC was contracted by ADB to manage implementation of Phase 2 of the technical assistance and to provide technical expertise. The objective was to contribute to enhanced food security for participating countries by strengthening the resilience of marine and coastal ecosystems and communities to the impacts of climate change. The project resulted in completion of over 10 pilot community-based projects for climate resilient resources management. Some of the results include over 1,000 community members trained and more than five marine protected areas established.
