We are pleased to announce that Mr Samuli Leminen has been appointed as FCG ANZDEC’s new Managing Director, effective from the start of August 2019. Mr Leminen will be further driving the company forward, building on the solid foundation and momentum achieved by the team under Ms Ana Ilic’s leadership. Ms Ilic had been part of the team since 2010, and as the CEO since 2014.

Following Ms Ilic’s guidance, FCG ANZDEC is well placed in this dynamic industry. Ms Ilic’s vision and drive, combined with her passion towards making a real difference in communities, has led to FCG ANZDEC’s most successful years during its 49-year history. She hands over an agile company with a well-established reputation as a value provider through a long list of successfully implemented development projects. “It has been an enormous pleasure and honour walking almost a decade long journey together with the team, our clients and stakeholders. I am thrilled about the new chapter for FCG ANZDEC: the team with deep purpose and focus on excellence has been the key to our success and will continue co-creating the better future for all if us under Samuli’s incisive leadership.” -Ana Ilic

Ms Ilic and Mr Leminen spent the past seven months working directly in the same team, but their collaboration goes well beyond the months spent in New Zealand. Mr Leminen has worked the past eight years for FCG Finnish Consulting Group, first in Helsinki and Singapore, and from the start of 2019 as a Senior Manager and Head of Sales for FCG ANZDEC in Auckland. “FCG ANZDEC under Ana’s leadership has shown how a company based on core values of sustainable development and working for well-being in developing countries can also be a rapidly growing and thriving business. I look forward to working for continued success of this unique New Zealand enterprise, further strengthening the key client relationships with Asian Development Bank and Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Trade of New Zealand, expanding our work with New Zealand’s Pacific Island neighbours as well as making  a wider array of expertise from FCG Group available to our clients.” – Samuli Leminen

Mr Leminen has a track record of strong leadership in international development.  Having gained a Master’s Degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology, he has worked for over 10 years with international development projects related to natural resources management, rural and urban development, climate change and environmental sustainability. He has in-depth knowledge of the financiers of international development as well as working with the public sector in Asia and Africa.

FCG ANZDEC team welcomes Mr Leminen to the new position and in the same time, wishes all the best for Ms Ilic with her next endeavours.
